How to play Spotify on multiple devices at once

Updated 29 October 2026

Spotify itself can send the song to another device, but not to several devices at once, unless your speakers can form a group themselves. With a Mac as the source and Allsono, Spotify does play on all your devices at once.

What Spotify can do itself

With Spotify Connect you move playback to another device, such as your laptop, a smart TV or a speaker. That is handy, but it then plays on one device at a time.

Playing on several speakers at once only works if those speakers form a group themselves, for example a Sonos group or a group of Google Cast speakers. Phones and laptops can't do that.

Spotify on all your devices with a Mac as the source

  1. Play Spotify on your Mac. You can also send it from your phone to the Mac with Spotify Connect and keep controlling it from there.
  2. Make the Mac the source in Allsono.
  3. Pick the phones and other Macs that should play along as speakers. They play exactly together with the Mac.

Android and iPhone as the source

  • Android: Spotify doesn't let other apps capture its sound. Allsono tells you and keeps the sound on the phone itself. Send Spotify to your Mac with Spotify Connect and make the Mac the source. YouTube, YouTube Music and most other apps do work on Android.
  • iPhone: most apps can share their sound through the iOS screen broadcast; Apple Music can't. As the source, the iPhone itself runs slightly ahead of the speakers, so turn it down or make a Mac the source.

Try it yourself
Allsono is in beta and free for Mac, Android and iPhone.
