Troubleshooting: no sound, echo or no devices

Updated 29 October 2026

Almost every problem with Allsono comes down to the network, a missing permission or an app that doesn't share its sound. Go through these points.

The devices can't see each other

  • Check that every device is on exactly the same Wi-Fi network, not a guest network. Guest networks often keep devices from seeing each other.
  • Turn off any VPN for a moment; it can hide the local network.
  • On an iPhone: allow "Local Network" for Allsono in Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network.
  • A Mac as a speaker: in System Settings, turn on "AirPlay Receiver" and set "Allow AirPlay for" to anyone on the same network. Otherwise the source can't see the Mac as a speaker.

Connected, but no sound

  • Mac as the source: give Allsono permission to record system audio. Without it there is nothing to share.
  • Android as the source: do you see "This app doesn't share its sound"? Then that app blocks capturing its sound. Spotify does; use a Mac as the source instead.
  • iPhone as the source: check that the broadcast is running (red bar or icon at the top). Music from Apple Music can't be shared.
  • Is the volume on the speaker itself turned up? On Android you can choose under "Sound on this phone" whether the phone also plays in silent mode.

I hear an echo

  • Is an iPhone the source? It runs slightly ahead itself, because iOS doesn't let apps delay other apps' sound. Mute that iPhone or make a Mac the source.
  • Is a Bluetooth speaker attached to a device? Allsono accounts for its delay, but every speaker is different. Adjust with "Fine-tune": if it runs ahead, choose +; if it runs behind, choose −.
  • Is the same music also playing somewhere else, for example on a smart speaker? Turn that off; Allsono can only keep its own speakers in time.

The sound stutters

  • Stuttering is almost always caused by a busy or weak Wi-Fi network. Allsono then enlarges its buffer by itself; after a few seconds it usually settles.
  • Move the devices closer to the router, or use the 5 GHz network if your router has one.
  • Large downloads or video calls on the same network can interfere for a moment.

Still not working?

Send us a message through the contact form, with the type of device and the app version (shown in the settings). Then we'll take a look with you.
